Product Description: DMEM (Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle Medium) is the preferred basal medium for fostering the growth of a wide range of mammalian cells. Setting it apart from other media, DMEM contains four times the concentration of amino acids and vitamins found in the original Eagle’s Minimal Essential Medium. Our DMEM media is available in high or low glucose, or no glucose formulations, with or without L-glutamine and sodium pyruvate. Phenol red is included in our DMEM media as a pH indicator. All DMEM media products contain a sodium bicarbonate buffer with or without HEPES to maintain optimal culture pH.
DMEM is apt for primary fibroblasts, neurons, glial cells, HUVECs, smooth muscle cells, and popular cell lines such as Hela, 293, Cos-7, and PC-12. Since DMEM contains no proteins, lipids, or growth factors, it necessitates supplementation, commonly with 10% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS). DMEM utilizes a sodium bicarbonate buffer system (3.7 g/L) and thus requires a 5–10% CO2 environment to maintain physiological pH.
All raw material components used for our cell culture media products undergo rigorous quality control testing. Our cell culture media are manufactured at a cGMP-compliant facility using water for injection, filtered through final 0.1 μm sterile filtration, and aseptically filled in a Hundred-stage FFU. Filter integrity tests are performed before and after filtration. Each lot of cell culture media undergoes sterility testing, pH, osmolality, endotoxin, and cell culture testing.
The key characteristics of this DMEM are as follows:
- With 25 mM D-Glucose, phenol red.
- Without HEPES, L-glutamine, sodium pyruvate.
