GENERAL INFORMATION:

In classic tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, research combines cells and scaffolds, stimulated by biochemical and mechanical factors, in a laboratory environment for organ repair and replacement. AlphaBioGel (PG-003) is composed of extracellular matrix (ECM) fibrous protein molecules secreted by cells. AlphaBioGel (PG-003) provides structural and biochemical support to the surrounding cells in 3D tissue models. It enhances cell adhesion, cell-to-cell communication, and differentiation. The fibrous proteins in AlphaBioGel (PG-003) fill the interstitial spaces and act as a compression buffer against the stress placed on the 3D tissue model, aiding cells in building strong basement membranes.

In terms of wound healing, AlphaBioGel (PG-003) serves two main purposes. First, it prevents the immune system from reacting to the injury by causing inflammation and scar tissue formation. Second, it facilitates the surrounding cells in repairing tissue rather than forming scar tissue. Additionally, AlphaBioGel (PG-003) can be utilized to support 3D cell culture in vitro for modeling tumor development.

Precautions:

Keep everything cold to prevent AlphaBioGel (PG-003) from solidifying. Avoid introducing air bubbles. This protocol is based on using a 6-well plate.

Methods:

Thaw your AlphaBioGel (PG-003) sample bottle at room temperature or in a 37ºC water bath, inverting the product while thawing. When you see a small amount of ice remaining in your sample, transfer the bottle into an ice bath. It is crucial to keep AlphaBioGel (PG-003) on ice since it will solidify at temperatures above 8ºC.
